Maricopa County Achieves Debt-Free Success, Maintains AAA Rating
Maricopa County in Arizona reported a strong fiscal year. The county maintained its AAA bond rating and became the largest government in the nation with no obligation debt. Officials said that 50% of the county's budget was invested in public safety. Sheriff Jerry Sheridan noted that the current level of support for public safety from the Board of Supervisors is unprecedented.
